Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium payments, which are used to enhance the quality of your child's education, are available to all eligible pupils. At Harris Primary Academy South Kenton, Pupil Premium is used to provide your child with:
- Academic support such as booster classes, speech and language help and extra learning support
- Discount towards the cost of school trips, visits and events
- Discount for all Enrichment clubs and sports
All pupils are now entitled to receive free school meals however, your child may be missing out on this additional support, targeted towards ensuring;
- The gap in attainment and progress between pupil premium and non pupil premium students is closed
- Students are involved in all school life
- All students feel equally valued and can flourish
Parents and carers who receive one or more of the qualifying benefits listed below should complete a Pupil Premium application in order for the child's school to benefit from this additional funding.
Who should apply?
Parents of children aged four or over attending a maintained school in Brent who receive child benefit for the child/children and one or more of the following:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
Or if your child
- Is currently being looked after by a local authority in England or Wales
- Has left care in England or Wales through an adoption order, a special guardianship order, or a child arrangements order

Important note: If your child was eligible for Free School Meals on 1 April 2018, then there is no need for you to apply again before they leave primary school - they will remain eligible until then.
Once you have completed the form and are registered for free school meals, please come to the office to ensure we are claiming and using this money to support YOUR child.
